I like Google for a variety of reasons, but I'll add this one now:

(the title is somewhat misleading...you have to read the first paragraph at least to understand it)

I've always been curious how someone is suppose to determine the value of the health benefits offered to their domestic partner. Once you've got that figured out, how do you pay it?
How many people are even aware they should be paying taxes on those benefits? I wonder how many know, and just don't bother?
Well just based on my own experience, the IRS has a pre defined value for what a partner or other non dependent health benefit is worth. And so it just shows up as "imputed income" on my pay stub and W 2. I'm guessing all big companies just do it that way. So Google probably just pays them whatever amount they would pay in taxes on that amount. Otherwise I would think it would be complicated!
